White fantasy granite is similar to kashmir white granite in that it is mined in India (specifically near the village of Keelavalavu near Madurai).
White Fantasy Granite – Super White Granite
White fantasy granite is one of the whitest granites available, hence one of its pseudonym being super white granite. The surface is generally white or light beige in colour. As with most white granite countertops, this makes super white granite countertops perfect for fitting into a contemporary kitchen and compliments darker colours such as glossy blacks amazingly well.
This granite is also has a relatively large average size when stored by suppliers, around 10 foot by 5 foot is considered average for white fantasy granite. Because of this it is perfect for installing white fantasy granite countertops in bigger kitchens where a large area needs to be covered with a seemless surface, it is also good for corner surfaces due to it’s slab size.
White Fantasy Granite Countertops – Marble Without The Cons?
White fantasy granite has light gray veins or ‘waves’ that give it a marble like visual effect which is very sought after because it doesn’t possess the bad points that real marble brings with it. Granite is a much more durable material compared to marble, it is more stain resistant, scratch resistant and impact resistant which makes white fantasy granite countertops perfect for the kitchen where all 3 of these situations are likely to occur.
This being said, white fantasy granite is not as strong as true granites and as such lies somewhere inbetween marble and granite in its classification. Because of this it is not actually known as a granite on the European market, it’s offical name is ‘Gneiss’.

Special care must be taken of white fantasy granite countertops because of the previously mentioned fact that it is not as tough in general as other granites. If any spillages do appear on the surface it is imperative to wipe it down immediately with warm soapy water. Also be sure to reseal the surface every 6-8 months to keep it in the best possible condition and prevent damage.

Because it is considered the whitest of granites and the fact that there simply isn’t much of it mined, it does carry price tag to reflect this.
